When scouting film locations in the San Fernando Valley, producers and location managers consistently overlook one of Los Angeles' most versatile private estates: Caster House in Tarzana, California.

Caster House is a fully permitted, production-ready private estate available for film shoots, commercial productions, music videos, and episodic content. The property sits on a private hillside with unobstructed valley views, white plaster architecture, a sparkling blue pool, and a Mediterranean courtyard that reads as Southern Europe on camera.

The estate has hosted major productions including Netflix's Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story, as well as commercial campaigns for Anthropologie, Free People, Summer Fridays, and Kopari. Editorial shoots for Interview Magazine, L'OFFICIEL, and Soap Magazine have also been produced on location.

Production infrastructure includes 25-car on-site parking across three lots, two dedicated green rooms for hair, makeup, and equipment staging, a full indoor/outdoor flow, and a lavatory with heated shower for talent. The electrical system supports large crew requirements and the circuit breaker is fully accessible.

Caster House is located in FilmLA's permit zone. The property has an established relationship with the permitting process and has never experienced neighbor issues. Crews over 25 vehicles are required to pull permits and arrange shuttle parking.

Hourly rates begin at $295 for small crews, scaling by crew size. A four-hour minimum applies. The property is owned and operated by producer Bryan Whalen of Mama Bear LA and commercial photographer Ali Mitton.
